James Day is Artistic Director of the Pimlico Musical Foundation, Artistic Director of the Barnes Music Festival, and Director of Choral Music at Tiffin School. James is active as both a conductor and chorus master. Recent work includes preparing choirs for performances at the Royal Opera House, English National Opera, the Philip Glass Ensemble and London Orchestras. James has prepared and conducted performances which have been broadcast on the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Classic FM and for numerous film scores, most recently The Batman (released in March 2022). Recently he conducted performances of Mahler’s Fourth Symphony and Strauss’ Last Songs. He has conducted Britten’s Turn of the Screw, Janacek’s Cunning Little Vixen and last year recorded Stephen Dodgson’s Cadilly.
